July 8 Entry

Well folks we are officially under 1 week until we board the planes to
come home!!!  As it stands right now we will leave Almaty next Friday
at 10:00 am.  We are currently on the waiting list for the July 12th trip
so if we are lucky we are actually only a couple of days out until we
leave!!!

Since we are done with all of our checklist stuff here in Almaty today we
were on our own without Natasha.  This morning we all woke up
together in blistering heat.  Today it was 36 degrees (98) and it was a
balmy 91 in the apartment.  So most of the day was shirtless and
sweaty.  It is unbelievable the progress we are making as a family.  At
the baby house Lia was stubborn and insatiable a good portion of the
time and at home that has minimized dramatically (don't get me wrong,
she still fusses at times, but they are fewer and far between with less
volume).  She is SO SMART!!  Today when asked where is Dada she
stopped, walked over to me, and put her index finger in my chest, and
said Da.  It was INCREDIBLE and brought Lisa to tears.

Today I was able to pick out her outfit and I must say I did a dandy job.
I included a picture below.  I was also able to feed the baby bird with
Mom and change the funkiest diaper to date.  With her diet change it
was a matter of time before her digestive track caught up with the
changes and it produced a masterful display of colors and textures.  I
needed a little help from my mask to tame that beast (see below).

All in all we are hot and happy.  Each second revolves around Lia and we
are thrilled.  She is amazingly affectionate, amazingly talkative,
amazingly inquisitive, amazingly strong, and amazingly smart!!  It is a
matter of moments each day before she does something that amazes us
or puts tears in our eyes.  Her newest thing is to walk up to you, stop
about 2 feet away, turn around and put her butt to you, and slowly back
up until she sits in your lap.  IT IS AWESOME!!

We love you all!!  It is bath time so Daddy has got to go!!
Thanks for stopping by!!
Love,
Wil, Lisa, and Lia
xoxoxoxo

P.S. you may have noticed the journal entries are a little later in the
day.  Bath time and sleepy time coincide with what used to be posting
time :)

"Check out my outfit.  When Dad was
putting it on me he kept singing 'Hat
to the da back, I gotta kick my pants
down real low, that's the kind of girl I
am'.   I am not sure what that means,
must be some early 90's hip hop.

The baby bird face when she
is eating cracks us up!!!

How is it possible that
something so cute could create
something so awful.  I will have
flashbacks.  And to think she
was sitting in that and playing
as if nothing was wrong...... I
will have dreams... very, very
bad dreams.

Lia adores looking at
herself in the mirror.
Since we were never able
to see the children's living
quarters in the baby house
we are not sure if they
had mirrors the kids could
play with.  Lia will walk
by, stop, smile, and talk to
herself in the mirror!!
Reminds us of Flo in
Finding Nemo!
