TIC TOC, TIC TOC... Time is just creeping along for the Lynotts in Kazakhstan.
Good thing for us we are 10 hours ahead so while you all will read this on
Wednesday morning we will be having a night cap and closing out our last
Wednesday here in Almaty!!
What is there to say that we have not already said? It was a hot one today, we
have no AC, we board a plane to come home on Friday at 10:00 (midnight
Thursday for you all), and oh by the way..... WE FREAKING LOVE OUR
DAUGHTER!! She makes this all worth while!!
This experience has been the most challenging and rewarding of our lives!! We
are still not done clearing the hurdles because as you know we are not home
yet. Even though we have all of our required paperwork completed here in
Almaty and we have all of the paperwork needed to bring Lia into the US, we
still have to have the authorities in Almaty approve it and allow us on the plane
and to have the authorities in NJ approve it and allow us in the states.
Our travels will begin 10:00 am our time on Friday. Our 1st plane ride will be to
London and it will take approximately 10 hours. Once in London we have a 5
hour layover before we board a 8 hour flight at 8pm to arrive in the states at
11:10 pm. Numerically and time zone-wise it will still be Friday when we land
but if our day starts at 10 am Kaz time and we fly for 10 hours and then have a 5
hour layover and then a 8 hour flight, by my calculations 11:10 pm in NJ will
actually be 9:10 am on Saturday for our internal clocks. We have a hotel
reserved at the Sheridan for Friday night because our 3 hour flight to Jax is not
until 3:30 pm on Saturday.
Enough talking about it already.. lets get this (what our adoption books and
resources call 'the trip from hell') trip going!!
