June 9th Entry

Today we had fun with Lia but Lisa and I felt today was an appropriate day to discuss
recent discoveries regarding Lia's biological family.

Today our journey took us deeper into the life of our daughter.  We found out that Lia
has a sister.  A 12 year old girl named Anastacia who lives with her biological
grandmother.  Over the last couple of days our facilitator has been pulling required
documents together for our Monday court date and Lia's biological grandmother was
contacted to again sign the paperwork making Lia available for adoption.  During that
contact Anastacia was discovered and was excited to know that she has a sister.  We
were also told that Anastacia was very excited that her little sister is going to be
adopted by an American family.  Anastacia signed a picture that we can give to Lia
when she is old enough not to eat it.  We will be given Anastacia's information and will
keep up the communication to let her know how wonderful her sister is doing at home
with us.

The reason her grandmother was asked to sign the paperwork is because we have
found out that Lia's biological mother has passed away.  She passed away 3 months
after Lia's birth and it appears to be drug related.  Though we have never met the
woman and the only facts we have about her is from a medical report, it appears she
led a troubled life.  We hope that she is happier now than she was here on earth.
Even though she is no longer with us, we thank her for carrying our child and promise
to love and care for LIA FOREVER!

Lord please comfort us all and give us the strength to handle this journey with the
appropriate combination of sympathy, love, and awareness required to appease all of
those involved.  We know you will not bring us to it unless you can bring us through it.

AMEN.
God's Plan

When they placed you in my arms
And I looked into your face
I felt our hearts melt into one
A miracle took place

Our prayers were finally answered
Though delayed, ‘twas not denied
The pain of love unanswered
In a moment’s time subsides

God’s plan seemed hard to
understand
The circle’s now complete
He placed the heavens in my arms
So precious and so sweet

Though you grew within another
My soul and yours were one
We united in God’s loving heart
Before life had begun

I received a priceless treasure
This beautiful child I love
A gift of joy and happiness
To me from God above

Rest up little angel, our journey is not
yet complete.
