6/5 Entry

Welcome to Lazy Sunday!  I hope everyone's Sunday is as restful as ours was.
Today Lisa and I gave Natasha the afternoon off to spend with her family and we
just hung around the apartment until it was time to go see Lia.  Today has
probably been the coolest day since we have been temperature wise.  It has been
overcast and threatening to rain all day.  It is setting us up nicely for a snuggle
and movie later.

Little Lia is still kinda sick, today we could actually feel the wheezing in her
chest as we held her.  Poor little thing is sick with all of the other children at the
baby house in her play group.  Even though she is teething, sneezing, and
coughing, she was in relatively good spirits and wants to play..... hard.  She is not
having fun unless there is some kind of collision or destruction (daddy couldn't
be happier).  We are calling her our 'little linebacker'.  It is funny, as each play
session with her passes, we are getting more and more comfortable in our skins.
We can see the parental roles in us surfacing and we don't feel like visitors
anymore.  We call her Lia now instead of Vica and we hold and kiss her (even if
she doesn't want us too).

The daily visits with Lia has been challenging, constant observation and the
inability to actually 'parent' her with discipline, rewards, love, changing,
bathing, soothing, feeding, etc have been it even harder.  We'd be lying if we were
to say "since day one we felt right at home with her."  But as the days pass, the
smiles mount, the cries soften, we cannot wait to get her in our care for 24 hours a
day so the real bonding and parenting can begin!!!

To those of you who have contacted us via email and phone, THANK YOU!!  It is
wonderful to hear your voices and read your emails even though we may not be able
to always respond!!  KEEP THEM COMING!!!  Enjoy your Sunday all!!!
C is for cookie, that's good enough to eat!!
