18 days and counting until we can leave!!!
Happy Monday all!! Boy, we had a close one today... we almost were able
to take Lia out of the Baby House today!!! As we stated yesterday, this
week is the week we work on the 2nd half of the required paperwork
needed to bring Lia home. On Tuesday we apply for Lia's passport and to
apply for a passport you need passport photos. When Natasha picked us
up this morning she advised us that today we will be taking Lia to get her
passport photos. So we were ALL FIRED UP for our visit today. We were
to visit for our normal two hours and instead of turning her back in to
the Baby House at noon, we were to take her to get her picture taken!!
The normal visit went well today. In the back of our head all during our
visit we could not help but smile as we were anxious for our dry run with
her out of the Baby House. Today Lia fell head over heels for her
'Peek-a-Blocks'. Lia loved to stack them and knock them over. She was
so into them she wanted to sit on the ground (which is not allowed) and
play with them so we improvised. Check out the picture below, we had
her sit on my feet until Lisa could get a blanket for her and when we put
all the blocks on the blanket you could hear the squeals of joy back
home. The visit was great but we were ready for the trip out of the Baby
House. As soon as Noon struck Lisa, Lia, and I were ready for Natasha to
pick us up for our trip. Natasha ran inside to finalize the off site trip and
that is when we were disappointed to find out that we would be unable to
take the trip today. Come to find out one of the workers has to
accompany us (makes sense now, but at the time we were so excited we
thought we would get to take her ourselves) and today there were not
enough care takers in her age group to go with us. So we will go during
our visit tomorrow and take the fresh photos as we apply for her passport!!
Big week!! We are ready for this week and all of the stress that
accompanies the paperwork!! We are so ready to take our little
linebacker home to the apartment and home for good!! We hope that
everyone has a great start to their week!! We miss you and will talk to
you soon!!
